When we are well, our home is a place of comfort and security. When we are injured, we suddenly find ourselves in a hostile environment. Things we took for granted become challenges. And often, we don’t find out until we are back at home, alone, and it’s too late.
Deborah can assess you in the hospital and go to your home before you are discharged. You may need railings installed or a shower stool; major modifications such as ramps or stair climbers, or something as simple as a one-handed cutter. Deborah know what is available that is right for you, and can have them ready and waiting. She can teach you how to use new equipment and give you tips on how to get the most out of life while you are recovering.
And if you are already back at home, Deborah can help to put things right.
Deborah can also review your workplace. Whether it’s a new chair, lifting aids or access issues, she can recommend a solution that right for you. We can talk to your employer to provide advice on returning you to work, offering suitable duties and task assessment. We can even point them in the right direction for government funding to assist.
